My Dad only had to quote Mark Twain to me once in my teens for me to remember it and be guided by it for the rest of my life. Twain said "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." With this in mind, I am careful to not express myself on things I have not already studied enough to form an opinion of my own.
